Privacy

Your calendar belongs to you.

Made for Paper’s free tools have no account system or server-side profile. Imported calendars stay in your browser. If you email us about a custom activity pack, we receive the details you choose to send, as explained below.

What is stored on your device

Three display preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage so the site looks the same next time: your week start (Sunday or Monday), whether federal holidays are shown, and roomy or compact spacing. That is the complete list. It contains no identifier, and it never leaves your browser. Clearing site data for this domain removes it.

What happens to an imported calendar file

When you import an .icsfile, it is read inside the browser tab you opened it in and parsed there. Event titles and dates are held in the page’s memory for as long as the tab is open. They are not uploaded, not written into the address bar, and not saved alongside your display preferences.

Reloading the page clears them. So does the “Clear imported events” button. On a shared or public computer, use that button before you walk away — the events remain visible on screen until you do.

What is not collected

  • No account or password. The free tools never require an email address.
  • No advertising, ad network, or advertising identifier.
  • No cross-site tracking and no fingerprinting.
  • No cookies are set by this site.
  • No profile of you, and no attempt to recognize you between visits.
  • No calendar contents, on any page.

Custom activity pack inquiries and orders

The request fields on the activity pack page stay in the current browser tab and are not saved in local storage. The email button opens a draft in your email app; the copy button copies a draft to your clipboard. Neither sends an inquiry automatically.

When you send the email, we receive your email address, center name, requested month, and any other details you include. We use them to discuss and fulfill your request, handle payment correspondence, and make corrections. We do not add you to a mailing list. Do not send participant names, health information, or private calendars. We keep order correspondence and records needed to fulfill the order and meet recordkeeping obligations; you can email us to ask about removal.

This website does not collect card details or process payments. If we agree an order, we identify the payment provider in the payment instructions before you pay. That provider handles payment information under its own privacy policy. Custom packs are delivered privately by email; only the clearly labeled sample pack is publicly downloadable.

Performance measurement

This site uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages actually load on real devices. It records page-load timings — how long the main content takes to appear, how much the layout shifts, how quickly the page responds to a first tap — along with the path visited and coarse device and connection information.

It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not assign you an identifier that persists between visits or follows you to other sites. It cannot see anything you type, import, or print. The data is aggregated: it answers “is the March calendar page slow on mobile”, not “what did this person do”.

It is here because page speed affects both whether the site is pleasant to use and whether search engines surface it, and that is not something you can measure from a developer’s own fast machine. Handling is covered by Vercel’s privacy policy. If you would rather not send it, any content blocker will stop the script and the site will work exactly as before.

Usage measurement

We use PostHog to measure page views, PDF download clicks, print-button clicks, and use of the activity-pack request and share buttons. Download clicks do not prove that a file was saved, and request-button clicks do not mean an email was sent or an order was placed.

Events include the page path, the referring website, basic browser and device information, and the PDF path when applicable. Query strings and URL fragments are removed. We do not send request-field values, email drafts, imported calendar contents, or printed contents. Automatic click and form capture is disabled.

PostHog uses a random identifier held only in page memory. It sets no analytics cookies and saves no analytics identifiers in local or session storage. Reloading the page creates a new identifier, so visitor counts are estimates rather than a count of unique people. Person profiles, session recording, heatmaps, and advertising tracking are disabled. PostHog records the IP address associated with analytics requests; we disable IP-based location enrichment.

Analytics is hosted in PostHog's US region and handled under PostHog's privacy policy. We respect your browser's Do Not Track setting. Content blockers may also prevent collection; the tools continue to work without analytics.

What the host necessarily sees

This site is served as static files by Vercel, which processes standard web-server request data — IP address, user agent, and requested URL — in order to deliver pages and defend against abuse. That is a function of being reachable on the internet rather than a choice made by this site, and it is not combined with anything above or used to build a profile.

Printing and PDFs

Printing and “Save as PDF” are handled entirely by your browser and operating system. Made for Paper does not generate, receive, or store a copy of anything you print. See the print guide for how that works.

If this changes

This page is updated before anything new is switched on, naming the provider, what is collected, and how to opt out — as it was when performance measurement was added. Advertising will not be introduced without the same notice. Questions and corrections go to hello@madeforpaper.com.
