The rules, briefly

Fill the grid so every row, every column, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. That is the whole game. Nothing needs to be guessed — if you are guessing, there is a deduction available somewhere you have not found yet.

Why single-solution matters

A great many free sudoku sheets are generated by removing clues at random without checking what that does. The result can have several valid answers, which makes the printed key wrong for anyone who found a different one. Every puzzle here is re-solved after each clue is removed, and the key is the grid the puzzle was carved from, so the two cannot disagree.

Are these sudoku puzzles really free?

Yes. Every Sudoku set here is a free PDF with no account, no email address, no watermark, and no limit on printing. The optional custom activity pack service is separate from these free sets.

How do I know a puzzle has only one answer?

Because it is checked, not assumed. Each puzzle is built by removing clues from a completed grid and re-solving after every removal; any clue whose absence would permit a second solution is put back. A puzzle with two answers is broken, not hard.

Which difficulty should I start with?

Easy and Medium can both be finished by scanning alone — no pencil marks and no guessing. Hard and Expert need candidate notes and pattern spotting. If you have solved sudoku before, start at Medium.

Do the puzzles change if I download again later?

No. Each is generated from a fixed seed, so a printed answer key always matches its puzzles no matter when either was printed.
