Still solvable by scanning alone, but the chains are longer. You will work across boxes rather than within one, and pencil marks start to earn their keep. Each of the 12 puzzles in this set starts from about 33 given numbers.

Yes, and that is checked rather than assumed. Clues are removed one at a time, and after each removal the puzzle is re-solved to confirm exactly one solution remains. If a removal would create a second solution, the clue goes back. A puzzle with two answers is not a harder puzzle — it is a broken one.
